How to Play Bonus Poker on a Table

The “Texas Hold’em Bonus” game is one of the newest casino table games to appear in casinos around the world. Simply put, it pits each player against the dealer in Texas Hold’em poker heads-up games. At the end of the game, whoever has the best five-card poker hand wins.

To win, you must beat the dealer’s hand, not the other players at the table, just as in Blackjack. If you know how to play Texas Hold’em, you should have no trouble understanding and sitting down to play. Here are the fundamental guidelines.

Wagers for a Bonus Jackpot

If players have placed bonus jackpot bets, the dealer can review the player’s two hole cards to see if they have won a bonus. This wager is unaffected by the player’s five-card poker hand and can win even though the player’s hand is a loser.

A winning bonus hand is usually one in which a player has every pair in the hole. A-K, A-Q, and A-J are other hole card combinations that generally earn bonuses. Each casino has slightly different payouts for different hands, which should be shown at the table. To know about card game Click here.

That is everything there is to it. There is no additional information given. In August, it appears that real names will be checked at particular tables, but even that information is unclear. Only people at the table will be able to see their opponents’ real names, according to Partypoker managing partner Rob Yong.

No, that wasn’t clear.

Real names, one would imagine, would be tested at specially marked tables, or else we’d have scenarios where certain players would reveal their real names and others would not, defeating the intent. The funny thing is that everyone on partypoker can already use their real names; all they have to do is change their screen name to their real name. For anyone who created a screen name that was not their real name, which is the vast majority of players, this new choice will, of course, bring real names back into play.

Perhaps it’s a noble idea.

The idea behind this experiment is that eliminating anonymity will make the game more pleasant, as people will be less likely to be rude to others if their seat at the table has a name attached to it. People are much less likely to be toxic if everybody knows who they really are. However, if you go to Facebook or the comments section of every online newspaper post, you’ll notice that many people are completely unaware because they use their real names to say hurtful things. However, not everyone agrees.

Critics of the move argue that the anonymity of online poker is a plus. Using one’s real name could get them into trouble; an enraged rival could track down a big winner or release their personal details to the public. It’s not just good players who don’t want their names known; bad players do not want their identities revealed for fear of embarrassment. Or maybe people really do not want others to know they play poker.

The impact of using real names at cash game tables on women is particularly concerning. Yong believes that women have an advantage because men sometimes “soft play” them, but he doesn’t understand why women might be concerned about how they could be handled negatively. Women are often subjected to “poker bro” nonsense, and in a more serious (but not implausible) case, they might be stalked by male players who misinterpret their experiences at the table as legitimate connections.
